This isn’t your everyday ordinary iPhone case form the Apple store. This $650 iPhone case was produced by Japanese manufacturer Marudai and will not only stop a bullet, but will (allegedly) stop a .50-caliber round. However it only stops the round from the rear, giggity. The case weighs in at juuuuust a little over a comfortable “hold it in you pocket weight,” at 4.6-pounds (2.1kg). This might make a better (tiny) shield then a phone case. Unfortunately there is no proof that the case actually stop a.50-caliber round. Since Marudai didn’t bother making a video, I included a video below of a guy just shooting an iPhone with a .50-cal.
I can just image a dumb, yuppy douchebag having this crazy brick sitting next to his Starbucks and bragging that it can withhold a direct shot from a .50-cal… Douch. Who the heck out there would buy this? And, I wonder if it has antenna problems?
