Father’s have a hard enough job as it is, and every father deserves a medal. But every once and while a father does that little extra, that makes him freak’n awesome. This dad definitely deserves some sort of an award.
Although I never actually got one, there were several of my friends who had the kid size Powerwheel cars. I remember the issue always being the price and how I would grow out of it in a year, and it would sit in the garage, and eventually make its way to the dump (PS – I love you Dad, and you got me plenty of other cool stuff). But Even’s dad decided that, just because his son got bigger doesn’t me he has to stop play with his toy.
At the age of 2 Evan received a Lightning McQueen Powerwheel race car for Christmas, and it immediately became his favorite toy. After only a year of use, Evan had worn through the car plastic wheels, and his’s favorite toy could hardly drive at all. After seeing his son’s favorite toy almost barely function under the three old weight, Evan’s father decided to upgrade the stock plastic wheels to metal rims and rubber tires. But the upgrades didn’t stop there, after seeing what the tires looked like one the car, he decided to take it one step further… He also equipped the Lightning McQueen Powerwheel with an aluminum chassis, dual sealed gel batteries, a 500 watt .66 horsepower electric motor, disk brakes, throttle modulated variable speed control with reverse and a Sparco battery cut off switch.
To say the least, his son’s car got a lot faster and a whole hell of a lot cooler. Check out Even, burning some rubber in the home made video/slide show.
Well done Even’s dad… Well done.
