This bad-ass international legal street race held on the Isle of Man, The “Rock,” each year is known to be one of the most prestigious motorcycle races in the world. As of now, we consider it the coolest up and coming popular races of the year. These racers reach upwards of high 100 mph and even 200 mph at times!! Now, I don’t know about the rest of you, but when I am on a bike going 80 mph it can scare the hell out of me…
The Isle of Man TT race is held in the Snaefell Mountain Course on the island. It is roughly 37.5 miles per lap, 200 different road bends and elevation changes of 1,300 feet. The race unofficially started around 1907, however did not get into the main motor circuits, FIM Motorcycle Grand Prix World Championship, until 1949. TT Formula 1 picked it up in from 1977 to the present.
You can visit the Island each year for the race and help the tourist economy of the island, however be sure to remember that while this is going on transportation is pretty difficult on the island. They practice for a week leading up to the race, so be sure to have your hiking boots on son.
