I bet back in the 1891, Nikola Tesla had no idea what amazing things we were able to accomplish with his invention.
The two large metal towers in the video are actually called “Tesla Coils.” The coils were originally invented by a man named Nikola Tesla, hence the name, Tesla Coils. Each coil in this video is capable of generating a 13 foot spark. This equates to about 500,000 volts of electricity.
Although it looks like there is just one bolt of electricity firing off the coil at a time, there is actually a continuous burst of sparks with a specific number of sparks generated per second. By modulating the number of sparks that emit from the coil each second, different tones can be produced by the coils. Mix in a little time, fine tuning, and southern love and you get Sweet Home Alabama!
