This has to be one of the most amazing wind tunnel acrobatics teams I’ve seen all day…
Most likely you’ve seen wind tunnels like this before, but I feel confident in saying that you’ve never see this level of acrobatics in a wind tunnel before. And, you especially haven’t seen it with a team of people!
Team Red Bull
has habit of collecting the craziest best athletes from snowboarding, skydiving, surfing, and every other “extreme sport” every created to be on their team. In this video we get a chance to see the 2012 Red Bull Wind Tunnel Team called the Soul Flyers, perform amazingly choreographed flying routine in Skydive Arena Prague‘s high speed vertical wind tunnel in the Czech Republic.
In order to keep the athletes afloat in the tunnel, the enormous fan on the floor produces winds over 240 km/h. By manipulating their hands, feet, and body, the athletes are able to control their level of drag, and there by change the amount of air the is forcing them either further up or down in the tunnel or left to right. The trick is doing quickly and in-sync with your teammates. Watch in awe, as teammates Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet from team Red Bull show us all how it’s done…
