Burrito Bomber – The World’s First Airborne Mexican Food Delivery System

inTIMidator December 9, 2012

At the intersection of Mexican food and aeronautical engineering you’ll find Darwin Aerospace and their “Burrito Bomber.”

The Burrito Bomber is a Autonomous Delivery Drone Service and is truly the world’s first airborne Mexican food delivery system. And it’s not just a gag either, it’s a proof of concept. The guys over at Darwin Aerospace want to roll out a fully functioning Burrito Bombers as soon as mid 2014.

But don’t get too excited having your late night burrito run turn into a midnight burrito bombing run next some time next year. Although this delivery guy looks harmless and awesome, the Burrito Bomber isn’t exactly legal. It’s technically a drone, and according to the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, commercial use drones is kind of a big no, no. So, until there are some major regulation changes (which is looking like not until 2015) we’ll still have to drive to the slop shop to get your carne asada.
